Actually, “they” gave up, or did not even try. We stayed home. We masked. We ordered groceries for curb-side pick-up. We chose not to see our friends and relatives. It had been a long year.

Meanwhile they taunted us for being silly, gullible, and over-cautious. They attended parties, rallies, and shopped in stores mask-less.

And the Covid-19 spreads.

My hope is that social contagion be taken as seriously as physical contagion. That ignorance under the flag of freedoms does not sink the entire ship which we thought we might guide to safe harbors.
