My college undergraduate college days in the late 1970s was when I witnessed this Rewarded pattern, two of my professors married students in my class. Both were classic narcissists with big fat egos to match.

Growing up in a college town, my friends had faculty parents who went philandering with the students. It must be a plum job, annoying only when some of us get on to their antics. And ask, Is this good for education?
