How much do they know that their knowing is needed, desperately needed. For those in the know do not think, what they don’t know.

Will the exclusion hurt them? Possibly. Our pain is not so much in the sidelining, but in having to watch while they go about things the hard way.

Also the waste of energy, for us, when fooled into believing that we must be acceptable to be heard.

Much better to set a trap further out, when they’ll need it. Stock it with provisions. Food, extra water, a warm vest. Most of all, an extension ladder to climb out of the pit they had dug, long, long ago.

I will be up top, cheering when they come up. Then point the way down a different street. That one with all the happy people. Dancing. Choosing whatever partner might enjoy the next tune.
