The great hair-color carousel, once off it, once the naturals start to grow in, and the scalp recovers, it’s a cheap thrill — but freedom actually feels better than any fresh, $75 “do” that I ever got.

What I miss though is the time and the primping by another human being. Could talking to myself in the mirror while I brush my hair ever replace that?

I’ll give it 100 strokes to try it out. Maybe add an affirmation or two. Check back with me sometime in the next week.
