This sounds logical, except for the condition ALWAYS. People triggered by events, those with roots deep in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder-ed reactions, or not, cannot ALWAYS determine reactions — and believe me, we wish we could.

We all react, some of us are more aware of it than others. When I finally realize that my amygdala has sent me running from the somebody in the room or at least mentally out to the gazebo where the smokers congregate, that’s when I have some choices.

First we must learn what our choices are, then seek to refine them. Historically, the choice of reactions is different for different people, depending on their age, gender, and station in life.
