Understated to say the least. My ethnographic film class used to have wild debates about how the social scientist, anthropologist, or the filmmaker distorts reality and then presents it as real. (And that was about food growing, tool use, and hierarchies in family groups.)

Porn is way at the other end of the spectrum. Probably it is a better view into the psyche of the writer/director/film editor than anything like real. Keep in mind that the dramas they invent are entertaining because the real thing looks pretty boring to a fly on the wall.
