Yes, therein lies the dilemma. How how to be yourself, stay authentic, not play games while also appealing to someone who may be, well, we don’t know who they are. What they are, or the nature of their emotional and financial baggage. Until we get to know them a little.

By then, we’ve led them on, given the wrong impression to our friends, impressed the relatives with how well we’ve chosen — or haven’t.

Note, first impressions made on someone’s good behavior, looks quite different in hindsight. Use those side view mirrors often and well. Toot the horn when backing. Proceed with caution.
